Triggers are:

Personal reminders (sights, sounds, smells, physical sensations) of the coronavirus disease that cause distress and intense physical reactions. These situations feel dangerous but are not dangerous in the moment. These can include:

  • places that seem similar to where the virus has spread
  • seeing a movie or hearing music that has some connection to the coronavirus disease
  • having discussions with others about the coronavirus disease
  • strong emotional experiences or distress
